Kirpans can be worn by Amritdhari (initiated) Sikhs in public places. Private places may have their own rules for entry. A public place can also become a private place when hired for an event or where that venue is managed by a private company. Examples of events that have their own rules with respect to the carriage of the Kirpan include events run by Cricket Australia through Ticketmaster (e.g. an International match at Optus Stadium or the Sydney Cricket Ground) as well as concert venues (e.g. Diljit Dosanjh Aura tour concerts across Australia).
